Azibo

Azibo, an early-stage startup in the real estate industry, helps smaller landlords manage their properties. The platform offers tools like lease generation, rent collection, tenant screening, accounting, and renter’s insurance, all designed to simplify property management for landlords while providing useful services for tenants.

As Director of Design, Joshua Graves led the design efforts, building a team to facilitate user research and ensure design alignment with business goals. One of the key challenges was the inconsistency between Figma designs and code, as well as a lack of interaction standards. Joshua and his team implemented a design system using Storybook, which streamlined the process, enabling quicker validation through prototyping and ensuring more seamless collaboration with engineering teams.

To differentiate Azibo from competitors, Joshua directed a rebrand that focused on a more human, approachable style. Consistent typography, illustrations, and a unified tone across all communications gave the platform a cohesive, accessible feel. This rebrand extended beyond visuals, incorporating updates to the UI and email templates to ensure a consistent experience across all touchpoints. The entire team came together to create something warm and memorable.

The customer dashboard was also redesigned to improve product monetization and enhance engagement. Through a combination of interviews, surveys, and live sessions with landlords, the team tailored the dashboard to provide landlords with the most relevant tools for running their businesses efficiently.
